About This Tour
Fly out along Australia’s west coast, over sandy beaches and fishing villages, to Hutt Lagoon. Your pilot drops down for a scenic flight over this remarkable Pink Lake and along the coastal cliffs of Kalbarri.
With the scenic flight only, you’ll be back in Perth by late morning. With the ground tour, you’ll land in Kalbarri, visit the lagoon up close, have lunch and tour the rugged cliffs before your return flight along the gorges and sea cliffs.
Discover Hutt Lagoon – Western Australia’s Pink Lake
Near the coastal hamlet of Port Gregory, Hutt Lagoon is a 14 km-long salt lake that glows pink thanks to Dunaliella salina, a microalga that produces beta-carotene. Depending on the light and cloud, its colour shifts from bubblegum pink to red and lilac – a striking contrast with the turquoise Indian Ocean just beyond the dunes.
The lagoon is also home to one of the world’s largest microalgae farms, where the natural pigment is harvested for food colouring and supplements. From the air, the farm’s ponds add bands of colour that make the view even more surreal.

Discover Kalbarri National Park
Kalbarri National Park, on Western Australia’s Coral Coast, protects two very different landscapes. Inland, the Murchison River has carved an 80 km gorge through banded red and white Tumblagooda sandstone – rock so old it preserves some of the earliest tracks of animals walking on land. On the coast, sea cliffs more than 100 metres high drop into the Indian Ocean.
The park’s most famous landmark, Nature’s Window, is a natural rock arch framing the river below. The Kalbarri Skywalk, two lookouts projecting out over the gorge rim, offers some of the most spectacular views in the state.
Must-See in Kalbarri National Park
- Nature’s Window – the iconic sandstone arch
- The Kalbarri Skywalk and Z Bend lookout
- The Murchison River gorge
- Island Rock and Natural Bridge on the coastal cliffs
